Checking For Size
1
Place the short end of the paper against a wall. Place your largest foot on the paper with your heel against the wall, so
that your heel is equal with the edge of paper.
2
Without moving your foot, use the pen to mark where your longest toe ends. Step off the paper.
3
Using your ruler or tape measure, measure from the edge of the paper to the line you have drawn. You can now use this
measurement to determine your shoe size.
Checking For Fit
1
If you are in the correct fit, you should feel comfortable wearing shoes without the need to wear them in.
2
Checking the Toe Room. The rule of thumb is approximately a thumb width between the end of the toe and the end of the
shoe. Check the little toe carefully. It has an important role to play in balance and walking, and needs room for mobility.
3
Checking the Fit for Length. Check with how your foot lines up inside the shoe. The ball of your foot (where your big
toe bends) should sit at the widest part of the shoe. Since your foot bends at this point when you walk, the boot should
bend there too. If your foot sits too far forward, the shoe may squeeze your toes and wear out faster at the front.
